Dear Kazanians!

Take my kindest and most sincere congratulations to our common holiday – the Kazan Millennium. We have the honor of living and working in a unique and ancient, but eternally young city and take active part in arrangement for its important jubilee – the 1000th anniversary.

Millennium is a peak, after subjugating it, one wants to look back and recall the brightest pages of the city history or look in the future of our lovely capital.

We are grateful to older generations that built, defended and preserved the city. Nowadays it is our turn to pass on experience and creative energy to our children and grandchildren. Applying to the past we fulfill our hearts with pride and make ourselves appreciate the present achievements with greater responsibility.

The years of prearrangements for the 1000th jubilee were a considerable stage of social and economical development of our favorite city. Kazan has changed and grown prettier. People’s well-being has been improved as well as the conditions of their every-day life and cultural level. It is important, that citizens didn’t stand aloof, and everyone gave his own presents to the city. As one big family we solved the problems of ramshackle houses, constructed the metro and reconstructed historical and cultural monuments. All that contributed to the pride of Kazan was created through labor and hard work, intellect and talents of citizens.

I’m thankful to you for active participation in the city development. We have done a lot together for prosperity of our marvelous one-thousand-year-old Kazan.

I sincerely congratulate all of you to the holiday and wish you family comfort and peace, high spirit, well-being and health. Let our Kazan become younger and more beautiful, let increase the strength of its economy and enrich culture! Let this holiday unite all those, who proudly call themselves Kazanians!
