A premiere of Mussorgsky “Boris Godunov” opera took place in Kazan yesterday
A Musorgsky “Boris Godunov” opera was the first premiere of the opera company of Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Mussa Jalil theater after the reconstruction of the building. The director of State Academic Bolshoy Theater Michael Padjavizde staged the opera as a classical masterpiece of Russian opera culture.
Tatarstan honored artist and the main band-master of Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Mussa Jalil theater Renat Salavatov conducted the show. The national artist of Tatarstan Michael Kozakov performed the role of Boris Godunov. The light –artist of Russia’s State Academic Bolshoy Theater Sergey Shevchenko worked under a light design of the performance.
The soloists of Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Mussa Jalil Theater Vladimir Bogachev, Oleg Matchin, Valery Ivanov, Alexander Minchenko, Galena Lastovka play in the performance.
The director Michael Padjavizde does not stage “Boris Godunov” opera for the first time. He staged it in the Bolshoy Theater, and in some theaters in Europe.
A magnificent performance in the true place of events, described in the Puskin’s work, on the cathedral square in Moscow Kremlin was staged with assistance of Andrew Moguchy in May 2003.
The spirit of medieval Russia, solemnity, and the tension of the Mussorgsky opera are fully reflected on the stage of Kazan theater. A deep impression on the design of the performance and the mastery of opera soloists is completed by a brilliant playing manner of the Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet theater orchestra.
