On 29 August in a festively painted "Pyramid" in Kazan, grand meeting of International Union of public associations "World Tatar Congress" took place on the occasion of the Kazan 1000-years anniversary.

More than 1000 guests from around the world have arrived to the festivity, including more than 500 people representing Tatars from 26 countries of the world.

The RT President Mintimer Shaimiev and RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin welcomed participants of the meeting.

Public and religious figures, representatives of foreign delegations spoke as well in the grand meeting.
