Today, a bilateral meeting between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili was held in Kazan. Mihkail Saakashvili said he was happy to discuss all the pressing issues in Russian-Georgian relations.

"I am sure we have a lot to talk about what concerns cooperation within the framework of international organizations," noted Putin. Saakashvili said, it was his third summit and every time he had been impressed at what he had seen. This, he said, proved to be especially true in Kazan.

Kazan is an example of how money can be used for the benefit of the people. This is an example not just for the Russian but for some regions of Georgia, Saakashvili said.

The Georgian leader also claimed that the civilised solution of the Russian bases's withdrawal from Georgia had proven to be effective owing to the political courage and determination of President Vladimir Putin.

The head of Georgia noted that fundamental problems between the two countries had arisen before he and Vladimir Putin assumed their offices but they are capable of resolving them.
