The Kazan city collaborates with the following twin towns: Braunschweig (Germany), Brian, College Station (USA), Eskiºehir (Turkey), provinces Al-Manufia and Al-Calubia (Egypt), Hyderabad (India), Urbino (Italy), Antalya an Istanbul (Turkey), Täbris (Islamic Republic of Iran), Han Zhou (the People’s Republic of China), Šumen (Bulgaria) and Jurmala (Latvian Republic). Kazan also has partnership with 22 cities of Russian Federation and CIS (Almaty, Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Bishkek, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Donetsk, Yevpatoria, Ivanovo, Yoshkar-Ola, Krasnoyarsk, Minsk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Orenburg, Samara, Saratov, Tashkent, Ulianovsk, Ufa, Ulhan-Ude, Cheliabinsk and Yaroslavl).

All treaties and agreements on collaboration are based on the mutual interest in economy, culture, science, education and historical links between people of the cities.
